Planning a new life in France - for 6 months lol

I CANT WAIT TO LEAVE SG... for like 6 months and then come back to NUS and face the bellcurve again.

---

Ok, so some of you must be wondering... WHY THE HECK am I waitressing? Like me? The most arrogant waitress that has ever landed in that dodgy restaurant? Well, for money of course, and not even a lot of money.

I guess if I last three months at my incredibly demeaning (coz the customers are real a-holes), mind-numbing and back-breaking job, I'll have just enough to pay for my shopping in France.

Now here's my NUS exchanger's guide to spending intelligently in France:

1. Bookstore haul

First I'm gonna prowl the second-hand bookstores to stock up on Balzac, Zola and Colette. It's probably gonna end up on my bookshelf for the next 6 months untouched because I've read all of them in e-book form; but it's worth the space because nothing screams "intellectuelle" more than a bookshelf of vintage French novels that each cost 1.50 euros!

2. Prowling through consignement stores in Le Havre

Once upon a time, I discovered a leather, like-new Longchamp tote for 90 euros in a tiny second-hand shop in Grenoble. And in that some store I found a pair of Chanel leather flats which were in my size for 120 euros. However, being the real numbnut I am, I chose the Longchamp -which I still love- over the Chanel flats. Ever since then, my heart has longed for that pair of uber-worth-it ballet flats and that's why I've decided to come on exchange (yah right!).

3. Waiting for the end of Winter sale to get my mom 2 pairs of repettos

4. Going grocery shopping

I know it's really lame and auntie but I LOVE grocery shopping in France. Have you EVER seen 2 euro Smoked Salmon and 1 euro bag of shredded Emmental? HEHEHEHEHEHEH Can't wait to stuff my face with salmon omelettes.
